The shocking unsolved Keddie Cabin murders
In 1981, there were four horrific murders in a cabin in the town of Keddie in California. Despite an extensive investigation, the Keddie murders remain unsolved, and the case is regarded as Plumas County’s greatest crime mystery.
There have been several suspects, and with a botched investigation by the authorities, the perpetrators remain either at large or have died after the events 40 years ago.
Before the Keddie Resort murders
In 1979 or 1980, Glenna “Sue” Sharp left her abusive husband, James, with five children in Connecticut (John, Sheila, Tina, Rick, and Greg).
Sue packed whatever belongings they could into her vehicle and hit the road. The family started a new life in Quincy, California, about 150 miles north of Sacramento, partly because her brother, Don, lived nearby. They first moved into a one-bedroom trailer that her brother and his wife had recently vacated, but the cramped trailer park was not ideal for the large family. So Sue decided to move to the Keddie Resort in November 1981, and she rented Keddie Cabin 28. At the time, John was 15, Sheila was 14, Tina was 12, Rick was 10, and Greg was five years old.
